Waves using dgpu (rMBP)
Hey guys,
It seems that after installing a couple of waves plugins my rMBP wants to switch to dedicated graphics whenever I start up pro tools(which isn't very friendly on the battery). gfx status will not let me switch back to integrated because dedicated is being forced. Any idea why waves forces dedicated graphics and if there is a way of stopping it? |

Re: Waves using dgpu (rMBP)
My retina MBP does use the nvidia GPU while pro tools is running. I always thought it was just what pro tools did, but I've never tried starting without waves to compare…
I don't know. I also plug into a second monitor while in my usual studio setup, using one of the thunderbolt ports, so that also forces the nvidia gpu to be active, so I can't even compare this very easily. |

It's definitely a waves thing, it did it in pt 9 as well.
Uses integrated until I install waves plugins then it always switched to dedicated. |
