Default knob acceleration question

Improved Knob Response on the Dock
Knobs on the Dock now provide an acceleration curve.
• Turning the knobs quickly results in large adjustments.
• Turning slowly adjusts in the smallest increments for the current parameter.

What does this mean, exactly.. Has the non-linear knob behavior that everyone hated so much made a comeback?

The knobs have always had acceleration and always will. Without they are complete unusable. On the Artist and S3 we made it better a couple of releases ago but the Dock never go this update.

Are you saying your Dock is worse now ?

I'm feeling the knobs on the dock are now closer to the response of the S3 knobs. I also think the adjustment resolution is based on the plugin. For example I use the WAVES SSL plugin and I feel I have very good control over that plugin. The EQ3 for example is a bit more finicky.

Holding down CTRL will always make the acceleration slower, too...

It's fine.. having just bought the Dock I was concerned. The knobs work great!

There is a bug that I have noticed though with Logic, aside from the other ones I mentioned. the Jog and zoom buttons have to be held down in order to work, is that intentional?

Also, assignable knob doesn't work..

I think the Jog and Zoom is how Logic implemented it. There isn't an assignable knob on the Dock ?

The version of Eucon before the most recent one was different, you press the jog button, it lights up green and the jog wheel works. Now it only lights up briefly and you have to hold it, this is with nothing assigned to the button.

Assignable knob doesn't work at all, it used to work with my transport. I went into Eucon settings and chose the dock jog as assignable knob, no dice

Ok, sounds good. Kind of a shame, it would be nice to have the assignable knob, especially since the transport cannot work anymore with the dock

"This operation can not be completed. A transport unit cannot be added to a "My surfaces" list containing one or more Dock units.

Hey Eddie, regarding the jog and zoom issue. I tried this on another Mac and it is working, it turns out that Eucon functions for those buttons do need to be defined, as opposed to the automation buttons which can be left blank and still work.

There is still a bug though, the lights are inconsistent and usually backwards. The red light stays on for jog engaged and vice versa, this was a problem with the MC transport too.

Thanks
