Default Question re: PT 12.4 & OS X 10.8.5 Mountain Lion

Hi!
I'm still running OS X 10.8.5 on my Mac Pro 5,1 with PT12.4 & a Digi 003. I wasn't thrilled with the PT subscription model at the time, and upgraded to the last stand-alone version. But I held off upgrading to Yosemite or El Capitan due to the graphics issues. Currently, I have an ATI Radeon HD 5770 w/1024MB as my graphics card.

Recently, because of some other software upgrade limitations (w/ FCPX, internet browsers, etc), Ive been considering upgrading to at least Yosemite. But with PT 12.4, would I still be facing the graphics issues? I saw there was a fix of some sort with "beamsync" on Yosemite, but that's as much as I know.

I have to say, PT has never been more rock solid than on my 10.8.5 system, but the upgrade issue for other apps is starting to be a bit of a an issue. Your thoughts? Thank you! :)

I'd say partition your drive and install a separate newer OS for the apps you'd want to use.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm a little unclear as to how the current subscription model works. When you pay month-to-month, does ilock prevent you from using the PT app when you stop paying?

I would partition and test....

Once you start subscription ilok is bound to get confused with your perpetual license.

My laptop is in the same boat....safari and chrome don't update any more

Hmm. I do have another MacPro 4,1 running Yosemite I use exclusively for FCPX editing. Maybe a PT 12.4 install on that machine is in order to fully test the graphics issues. I realize the hardware is not exactly the same, but I do have the same ATI card in both. Thank you for the suggestions! :)
