Im thinking of spending my money on the 11r
but it seems Avid is dead silent about development on this nice product,
i hope they would let others develop further on the 11
like digitech did with the 1101,
lots of good things came out of that, and it didnt hurt the sales numbers :)

Dear Avid

is there any info for all of us 11 fans people checking internet a million times
for a little news, be it good or bad , i will take it all ????

I got mine from B&H Photo - $639. Hell PT 10 is that much and they throw in the 11R for free!

Avid from memory, has always been pretty quiet about hardware they develop. Just take HDX for example, some people brought up the supposition that there might be a new card, but no one knew for sure, and Avid had stayed completely quiet about it.

And you may remember the one person that talked early about that card here on the DUC that used to work for Sweetwater got fired for it. He now works for GC Pro.

I see ,
i think i read somewere that Avid was going to have a more open profile,
more open talk as with fractal audio, i cant see why it would cause any problems
to let us know if development is going to continue, unless its because it´s
allready doomed dead and they want to preserve the interest in the 11r
as much as possibly to sell out, well anyways, im sure i will enjoy this fine
piece of gear for many years :)

They always given some advance notice of EOL hardware and generally speaking left whatever the last version of Pro Tools that is supporting a generation of hardware in pretty good shape. Depending on what they are doing in PT11 it may be to early to say if there are any 11R centric features planned or not.

Keep in mind that Fractal is (I beleive) solely owned and as such the owner doesn't have to answer to a board of directors or shareholders and as such can say a whole lot more about product developement.

Very true, there is a big difference between a privately held company and a public company.

Not to mention that the product portfolio is much bigger at Avid, which creates different/changing demands on the their resources.

Somebody 'splain this to me...

Very true, there is a big difference between a privately held company and a public company.

Is there anybody who hasn't heard that Apple's stock price has been taking a hit lately. This can only happen because Apple is a public company, traded on various stock exchanges.

Is there anybody here who hasn't read or at least heard about this, which was posted a year? or so ago: Apple’s Tim Cook has sent an email to Facebook group page We Want a New Macpro, confirming that a truly new Mac Pro is coming. He wrote that Apple is "working on something really great" for 2013, adding: "Our Pro customers like you are really important to us. Although we didn’t have a chance to talk about a new Mac Pro at today’s event, don’t worry as we’re working on something really great for later next year."

Since Apple, a public company, can tell us what they're going to do maybe a year out, why is it that Avid can't tell us what they're going to do tomorrow because they're a public company?

Something just doesn't ring right about this oft-repeated statement about Avid can't comment because they're a public company...

I do not work for Avid (their loss)...my only relationship with Avid is that of a customer (when I'm not too poor to buy stuff, like now)...and that hot administrative assistant...that's more of a "thing" than a "relationship" (that should keep them guessing for a while...)

Just rockin'...what more is there?
