So now that the cat's out of the bag, let me get this straight, I sold my extra copy of PT10 and the new owner gets a free upgrade to PT11 but I have to pay for it?

That's because your copy has not yet been registered. I wasn't sure if the registration after April 7th alone does quality for the free upgrade, or if you'd also have to have a receipt from a dealer or something.
So I figured I'll give it a shot, because I could have put 10 to good use as well.

I can understand you're frustrated, but that's not Avid's fault. Neither is it mine. But if you feel somewhat screwed, please write me a PM, and we'll figure something out, okay? I don't mean to cause a bad day to anybody.

Pro Tools 11 is coming…

Get a complimentary Pro Tools 11 upgrade (once it’s available) when you buy, upgrade, or crossgrade to Pro Tools 10 on or after April 7, 2013 and register your purchase.

So its confirmed ... upgrade to PT10 now from PT9 and get free PT11

I bought 22.o3.2013. So it's not gone for two weeks. Will I be entitled to a free upgrade to pt11 or cheaper?

Dexxy, no!

The grace period started 7th April. If you registered before that date, you'll be paying to upgrade. Standard PT10 to PT11 said to be $299.
