Lighten up guys

U2 recorded some of their biggest hits in a bedroom on a 4 track machine.
Your all taking it too serious. Im alittle curious why you would want to be swapping between a hd3 and a quad?

To be honest if you have a lot of knowledge and experience and know how, you dont need a quad to turn out world wide releases?????

Just remember that most pro studios are still using G4 macs.Keep things in perspective guys.

As for the drugs question I wont answer that one.

Come on guys protools is not even vista compat yet.so what exactly would i be particapating in?

You guys obviously dont do a whole lot of recording
This is the only reason I mentioned what I had been recording since building my quad.... I am sure others here have been doing far more, but I have only had my quad built for a few weeks... Just one small example that some of us are indeed ‘doing some recording’

Different mixing rooms in a studio... is that such a hard concept to grasp?

Nobody is denying that great things can be achieved with mediocre equipment, but it’s A LOT easier with more power, the hard work that people have put in here benefits every pro tools user building a new machine, insulting people here and taking the pi$$, especially when it is factless and without foundation, is churlish & illogical...

Anyone want to take the Q6700 plunge?? Only $385:

Q6700 at PC Connection

That w/ some 1066 RAM will definitely crank things up a notch.

EDIT: Oops, back up to the high price. Wow those went fast!

Ok..I see we have a troll that is bored and doesn't comprehend the idea of building a powerhouse for cheap that will remain a powerhouse for at least half a decade.

Anywayzzzzzzzzzzz... I would like to ask about a couple more things before I take the plunge, which could start today. I think I'm gonna go with the P5K Deluxe (P35).

1. What does "go stepping" mean and do I need to make sure I get the CPU with that?

2. What does 5-5-5-15 mean when buying Memory and can someone link up a couple places to get 2 GB(thats what I have to start with) of it for the cheapest price. Is it 1066 that I should get?

Thanks so much sunburst and everyone.

Hi
If your into overclocking and gaming go with THE GO STEP.More expensive though.

As for ram I would just use 2gb corsair matched pair 1066 Doal channel.
For more ram wait for vista

By the way a troll is one thing im not,

Do you all not feel a little embarrased at this stage? Its no rocket sience you know!!!!!

I also think you should all use msn messenger or something to chat,it uses less bandwidth.

brandy

Take your negativity somewhere else will you
Sunburst and several others have been a huge assistance to people like myself needing an upgrade. (I couldn't help myself either )

5-5-5-15 is the memory timing.

Auxsend1 posted link to some Crucial memory on sale yesterday, stroll back though the thread or search through his last couple of posts to find it.

The G0 stepping is replacing the earlier B3 stepping, being a big Hammond organ fan I would rather have the B3
As far as I know there is no price differance, but most retailers could care less about the revision they just grab whats on the shelf.

Grab whay you can get at the cheapest price.

B3 isnt hurting Jamtime any
