Default Pro Tools 9.0.5 crash on Startup

Hi everyone,

I purchased Pro Tools 9 yesterday and I'm having a bit of trouble with it.

It pretty much crashes %80 of the time I try to start it up.
It seems to hang on the last plugin in scans before it crashes. So I've tried removing the last scanned plugin, and still hangs on the next one. So I removed that one, and so on... Always hangs on the last one, no matter what it is.

I'm running OS X Lion (upgraded through app store). Pro Tools 9.0.5 (Using the Installer CD and then the 9.0.5 update).

If someone could help me with this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Regards,
Mario.

Hi,

It's usually plugin related!

Did you upgrade from a previous version? Probably some plugins need to be updated or there are some incompatible or old plugins in your plugins folder!

You could try removing all plugins from the plugs folder except the stereomixer.dpm plugin and see if it loads ok!

I'm having the same problem here, and I have removed all plugins. It seems to be a problem with what Pro Tools loads directly after loading plug-ins

Deleting preferences and databases seems to help in most cases when this happens, especially when removing plugins.

You don't have iChat running at the same time do you?
