Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0.3, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
I recently got this laptop - Dell Inspiron Studio 15, 1555 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. I've been running into a lot of problems. First when recording, Pro Tools will lock up, not stop and I have to force shut down of the program.
Other times on playback, the sound degrades on some tracks to a distorted, bit crunched sound. For the recordings I actually captured, there are pops, clicks and other problems with the sound. The whole system is unusable for sessions, as I cannot have my clients deal with these types of issues. Any advice will be appreciated. |

Re: Pro Tools M-Powered 8.0.3, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Have you tried using 8.0.1cs1 ?
I would try that and let us know how you get on in comparison with these current problems you're having. .

Not sure if it will work though, given that you've indicated you're using a 64bit OS. Just make absolutely sure you've got the latest M-Audio drivers installed too. .

I'll gather the SANDRA REPORT and post it when I get home.
I know it's in Beta, but I didn't realize it would have a ton of issues. I have the newest Driver installed for the Firewire 410 from M-Audio. Should I just move back to Windows XP? |

I've had M-Powered 8.0.3 working great on W7 64bit, but I've gone back to XP because of third-party VI related issues. M-Audio's drivers are fully W7 64bit supported (depending on your interface of course). .
