No Audio from Avid Interface on Core 2 Duo Mac with OS X Mavericks

I've received some information: OSX 10.9.1 is not supported yet, but the drivers should work with 10.9. Can you all please post back with the exact version of OSX you are running, and if possible roll back to 10.9 if you've installed the 10.9.1 update?

These mavericks drivers have not worked with either 10.9 or 10.9.1 for me. I have the same issue as everyone with No audio out sound running an Imac late 2009 (Intel based) with now OSX 10.9.1. The driver for this particular box doesn't work. I've been on the phone with avid on this issue and they chalked it up to my computer had issues. Obviously not.

How are people getting to 10.9? With in-situ upgrades or with complete clean installs? I would avoid in-situ upgrades like the plague (and Avid specifically warns about doing them). For a full clean upgrade you (possibly format the drive), install OS X, install all your apps and drivers again and maybe use system migration tool (aka system mangler) to move over *only* user files.

If you are having problems with any vendors drivers on any release of OS X that the vendor claim they work OK on then the best thing you can try is to grab another disk drive and do a clean full install of that OS X release in an external or spare internal drive and boot that and install the drivers there.

If folks are having driver problems after doing a clean full install of OS X it would be great to clarify that, as it highlights a potentially more serious issue, and may help Avid out as well.

Thanks for that Darryl. Haven't upgraded to Mav yet (nothing's broke so no need to fix!) but once I do my plan is to follow these suggestions.

I've done a FULL CLEAN install of Mavericks and I have the same issue. I completely reformatted my HDD and booted from a USB iso of Mavericks. I originally upgraded from Mountain lion and it did not work after the upgrade or the fresh install.

In response to issues with Mavericks and Avid USB hardware interfaces here are some results I've found... the one common issue in all the threads related to either Fast Track Ultra 8R, C600, or Mbox 3rd generation devices is that people are having problems when upgrading to Mavericks on Intel Core 2 Duo computers. If that seems to be the case, it would be great to know.

In all test cases audio worked fine from all hardware interfaces outputs. In addition all un-installers and desktop control panels worked fine for all interfaces.

im assuming that 10.9.1 is not supported yet. the latest drivers for my mbox 3 mini or for 10.9 only. Thats why I haven't updated my mac yet

The Core2Duo machine isn´t officially supported anymore, but since Pro Tools 11 runs GREAT on it with my Apogee products, it would be sweet if the driver would be updated.
