"Smart tool" not working in shuffle mode

I can't seem to get the trimmer to work properly while using the smart tool in shuffle mode... any suggestions?

That's pretty much the whole point about shuffle mode...get a grip on your manual...

Look - I swear this is isn't a stupid question!
Usually in the shuffle mode you can use the trimmer to extend and shrink regions while maintaining their relative position.. but for some reason, only on our LE system (not our TDM system) and only while using the smart tool as a trimmer, and only in shuffle mode - the trimmer ceases to work properly.
Does anybody else have this problem??

The Smart Tool Trim function works for me in Shuffle mode. The only case where I see it reject my move is when trying to extend a region that encompasses the next...in which case, you will need to switch to a different edit mode for that.
