Mixing/matching Avid control desktop with Avid Control ios

I'm outta faders on my s3 and looking to get 4 S1s and want to use the ios app/tablets on two of them and the Avid control desktop on the other two. I'll also be running an ios app/tablet on the dock.

is this doable?

You can only use 1 tablet running Avid Control as a master control app, with access to all of the functions and pages. The other tablets have to be tied to an S1 and only function in meter mode.

Do you know if I can use 2 tablets for 2 S1's metering and the Avid Control DESKTOP app for the other 2 S1 meters? The avid Control iso app will be locked to the dock.

All the tablets will run the Avid Control software, but only one can be the master (not sure if that's what it's actually called). Once you add one to the My Surfaces pane, you can only add more tablets by dragging them on top of S1s and they will only run in Meter Mode. Generally if you have a Dock plus some S1s, the tablet on the Dock would run in "master mode" and the tablets on the S1s would run in "meter mode".

If you are running Avid Control Desktop along with 2 meter tablets on 2 S1's and 1 AC Master tablet on the Dock, you can get metering on Avid Control Desktop for the remaining two S1's. You'll need to play around with placement of the ACD but ACD will show you the meters for the 2 S1's without a tablet.
