Default ok This is odd - zooming

I am working with a session recorded onto a mix 3 system (I have HD3 accel)

When I try to zoom into a waveform in the edit window, I can't zoom to the sample level. It's like i can only zoom so far in and then it stops zooming. What gives? Im my other sessions that I created on my system, I can zoom into the sample level.

Also anybody have problems with clicks and pops when either saving a session copy as or ftp'ing files over the net? I Ftp'ed this session and it appears to have gotten a bunch of clicks and pops in the waveforms (see above comment about zooming in and you will see my frustration)

Regards,
Keny

Hi,

There are a couple of things that can cause the zoom problem you are describing. When the Edit Window Default Length is set too large, it is not possible to zoom down to sample level. The Edit Window Default Length field can be found in the Setups>Preferences>Display window. If there are any automation points in a visible track past the maximum Pro Tools session length (about 12.5 hrs @ 44.1k, and 12 hrs @ 48k) Pro Tools will not zoom past quarter frame accuracy. This also occurs if the cursor has been dropped past the session length limit. Hiding the offending track(s) or deleting all automation points past these session length limits will eliminate the problem.

Thanks,

yup, you nailed it. There was a volume automation breakpoint on the master fader at the farthest end of the session. i wonder how'd that get thar.

once I deleted the point, I was able to go in and edit out the pops on the subject track. Thanks!

Now all i gotta do is figure out how to play a good Tumbao' and I have this track nailed.

Cheers,
Keny
