Default I like my Pro Tools...

Just sayin'.

After all the years & $$$ invested, I'm really enjoying it.

As for the title of my post, it's based on a memory of when my niece was really little.
I remember she was playing with her new doll.
As she lovingly & gently brushed the doll's hair she said:

"I like my new dolly mommy...Mommy I like my new dolly..."

It was one of those precious moments seeing & hearing her contentment.

It's with the same contentment that I say:

I like my Pro Tools Avid...Avid I like my Pro Tools...

Just sayin'!

I'm not brushing its hair or anything but I like it.

I agree. while not on the level of a lot of folks, I do a lot of recording and editing and frankly PT works just fine for me.

With 2023.6 I'm liking pro tools. It is snappier then before.

A lot of things have been fixed like window configs that remember the state of the plugins.

Seems like CPU consumption is better as well.

I know there are small things in midi that work and then don't work.
I know there are things that annoy.

AVID came to their senses and restored perpetual as well as lowered costs.

I know some who use Pro tools only for audio because it is the easiest to edit, but will us DP or Cubase for midi. I get that, as they are so much more advanced than Pro tools.

We are in a world of either one DAW or multiple DAW use.
There is a lot about Reaper that I really like. But doing what I know how to do in PT takes me a second, where I have to go into advanced learning of Pro tools.

I think AVID brought back the open door for users who objected to some of the old policies.
AVID has shown they are listening and working and implementing requests.

I got one added. Clip gain on a clip is played though an Audiosuite plays at the clip gain level.

Pro Tools isn't prefect. But it does a pretty good job.

Yes. One the main reasons I like my Pro Tools.

Cool.
I was able to benefit from the addition of the time-saving Space Clips feature.
The feature was added the next release after posting a thread entitled: "Can Pro Tools Do This?

A real time-saver when eliminating the gaps after editing all my off-the-cuff recordings down to the best moments. Then spacing the remaining clips evenly with one shortcut.
It's nice to be able to eliminate the parts where I'm still working out a riff or searching for the right chord and then turn it into the start of something on the timeline.
After eliminating the parts I don't want and then setting the space interval based on the feel of the recording, it turns each recording into a continuous flow of usable ideas.
Setting space between also allows me to absorb each idea separately when listening to each "riff roll" as a rehearsal or production reference.

If anything, I have a reference of all the best moments of my jam sessions nicely laid out on the timeline.

I like my Pro Tools better than I like most of my customers anyway. Of all the equipment in my studio PT gives me the least trouble overall.

Avid support is another question, OH MY GOD does that suck. I hope you never need to contact them for anything.

Just finished working on a bunch of sessions in PT Studio 2023.12 and really enjoying the past 2 updates.

I said it before & I'll say it again (everybody with me now...)

I like my Pro Tools.* (He likes his Pro Tools)

*Even though it's officially AVID's and I'm just a perp end-user.

It's just a funny & cute way to express it.
