Can't get ARA melodyne essentials to work

Hey all, I am technically a new user here, but I actually had another account since the days of PT 5.0.1 (I think).

Anyway, I am not a new PT user exactly, but new to the modern variants.

I have PT Artist 2023.6 on a Mac Mini M2 Pro and Ventura 13.4.1. I am trying to get the ARA Melodyne thing to work, and I cannot figure it out for the life of me.

Here are the symptoms - In a session, I can select an insert and load the melodyne plugin just fine. It is activated per the instructions. I can also open and run the stand alone version of Melodyne Essentials and all show my serial number as it should.

BUT, at the bottom of the session is a Melodyne tab, that is greyed out. Also if I right click an audio track, go to Melodyne - the Edit item is greyed out. The only item I can select is Hide. If I click the toolbar item selection arrow on the far right, the selection box for Melodyne is greyed out.

So, as far as I can tell, Melodyne is activated, but PT doesn't know about it. The Avid Link thing shows a redeem button for Melodyne, not sure if that's how it should be or not. Clicking the redeem button takes me to the activation instructions, but never changes to active.

I have done the following to try to fix it: trashed prefs, deleted PT and reinstall, deleted Melodyne and reinstall, deactivate and reactivate Melodyne.

I'm at a loss here, any ideas what I missed?

You need to click on what used to be the "Elastic Audio Selector" in each track on the edit window. It is now the "Elastic Audio or ARA Plugin Selector." Select Melodyne.

Sometimes I don't see the Melodyne data in the Melodyne window after doing this, and I have to go back to the Selector and choose "None," and then choose "Melodyne" again.

You have to select the *clip* you want to edit so it's highlighted, then Shift-ctl-a should analyze and allow editing. You can also right click on the highlighted region to get to the various melodyne tools.
