Yes, that it is.

But the ballpark isn't 1ms it is around 10ms (the earliest digital pianos had way over 10ms from keystroke to sound and somehow that wasn't crap)

What’s the point in holding on to the HDX card for the work I do?

My bad, let's stay on HDN/HDX now.. though this kidnapping touches a very intimate (for some) difference between the two..

I don't have the smarts to add up all the numbers really. All I know is that when the drummer is waving at the window and calling "bit of a delay in the cans, mate - can you do something about it please..." then I've got a problem, and I have enough problems to contend with already.

So, yes - HDX better... if you track bands playing and overdubbing ensemble, especially in my experience anyway if it's jazz or classical.

But, no - HDX not better unless you've got the money. It's a huge investment in hardware compared to a native system.

So that a session mixed in HDX1 can be opened with HDN

So, for large 7.1 film sessions, there's absolutely no reason for me to stick with my HDX card (considering my Macs processing power), especially after the recent 2019 update and more voices being made available for native?

Sell the HDX card, buy the native box, take the extra money and live like a king?

Note - To clarify - I NEVER TRACK

If you never track and dont mix with outboard (so are fine with max 64 i/o) and have a fast computer, then yes, you shouldnt find HDN any different than HDX1

Latency is the inherent delay between asking a question and getting a useful answer. In this system, the background noise isn't part of the signal; you have to listen to it first.
