Default \"ProTools Unexpectedly Quits\"

ProTools always "unexpectedly Quit's" everytime I leave the session Idle for long periods of time. Many times I'll take an extended lunch or will be in
the middle of a lengthy disscusion with the producer for 1-2 hours, and then we'll go back into the studio and notice that ProTools has quit.

Anyone have clue why ProTools would just quit while its sitting idle?????

Did you set the Energy saver (in System Prefs) to "Never".

How much Ram do you have? What OS, and if you upgraded from OS 10.2.5 to 10.2.6, or even 10.2.8, make sure you "Repair Disk Permissions" after updating the OS...

Note: this is found in the Apps folder, in the Utility folder. Launch Disk Utility, go to the 1st Aid tab, highlight the OS hard drive and repair permissions.

Do you have a SCSI card? If so, did you install the ATTO Config Tool and OS X drivers? Do you have any virus protection enabled?

Have you tried making a new "User"?

Hi,
I have the same problem.
Energysaver set to "never", 1.25 GB Ram, A new clean installation of OSX 10.2.8, repaired Disk Permissions, no SCSI, no virus protection. When I come back, sometimes after just 10 minutes, ProTools has puit without any warning.

Digi....any idea?

I have the same problem. I think it's tied to Auto-Save. Sessions that do this generally have at least 8 tracks and 1 movie track.

My system:
G4 Dual 1.25GHz, 1GB RAN,ProTools HD2, Dual 18" LCD, ATI Radeon 9600? Astera Fibre card, 4TB of storage - usually only 320GB mounted at any given time.

Right now I'm waiting for ProTools 6.x to work with Fibre Drives so we can update to OS X.
