Photo link is not working for me. In any case, I suspect you are over-complicating things so let me describe what works for me. I insert SD on a stereo Instrument track. Then I open the mixer inside the SD plugin and assign each mixer "channel" to a bus(inside the plugin). Next, I add a bunch of stereo AUX tracks and set all the inputs to the plugin buses. Now each sound from the SD2 kit plays thru its own track where I can use plugins and control volume/pan/automation just as I would with a regular drum kit. You could also use AUDIO tracks instead of AUX tracks and record all the drums as audio(handy if you need to move the session to a system that doesn't have the SD2 stuff installed). All my midi editing gets done on the instrument track. Here's a screen shot showing how it all looks:

I know there are several ways to accomplish the control you want. This is the way I use. As you can see in the capture, I use a real hihat, but the principle is the same and while I run all toms as a stereo track, you can split them out to single tom per track using the same procedure.

Instead of recording midi to a midi track, record it to a stereo instrument track with SD2 inserted. Instrument tracks combine the features of a midi track with an AUX track for convenience. You can also copy/paste midi data from a midi track to an instrument track.
