NEW IMAC 24INCH 2.8 GHZ INTEL CORE 2 EXTREME

Hey, Running on Pro Tools 7.3.1 and my interface is a Digi 002. Time to upgrade the Apple. Is there anyone who has any expeience or information on any compatibility issues with the new IMAC 2.8 GHZ Intel Core 2 Extreme or some of the newer IMAC's Are they still testing. Any Help would be greatly appreciated. Tried to get answer from Digidesign! Good Luck was on hold for an hour. Hung up!!

Damn, I was thinking of the same upgrade. I am sure the 2.4 ghz would be fine, but for $2999 you can get the 2.8 extreme 24" Imac with 4 gb of RAM... Maybe if u know someone at an apple(or other) computer retailer, they could let you try the computer for 30 days. There are places that let u do it, if that processor gives u compat issues, then just return it for a 2.4ghz? I was thinking of upgrading my Intel 2ghz Core Duo...only has 2gb ram capability ( running digi002 as well ). Having double the RAM may be a good gamble.

Mmmm I run an 002 with LE 7.1.1 with MAC OSX 10.4.9

Perhaps I should wait.....

Have been using it for about a week and no problems (knock on wood).

ProTools has misteriously quitted a few times but only with a session running Independence Player.
