Default Can't hear any sound with 11R/Pro Tools 10

I've had the eleven rack for quite some time now and I've tried everything to get sound out of either my computer or the 11R. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it doesn't. When I do hear either my bass or guitar coming through my speakers, the effects are not equipped with it. I'm not sure if this is a really simple fix or something with my computer. My computer does have a SPDIF built in, but it is disabled.

do you have speakers hooked up to the OUTPUT of the Eleven Rack?

How is the 11R connected to your PC?

Are you trying this in standalone or with Pro Tools open?

What is the INPUT of the rig set to?

Did you turn up the volume?

Are the mute buttons pressed?

In Pro Tools what are you choosing for your input? Guitar or Eleven Rig?

What OS? What version of Pro Tools?

Hi Brian -

Having the same issue this user is (or was). I have the following setup:

Samsung Series 7 Chronos laptop running Windows 8.1.
Pro Tools Version: HD 11 (trial)
Input: Kawai CN25 Keyboard connected to laptop via USB (no MBox or other such interface)
Output: default laptop speakers
Soundcard: Realtek High Definition Audio, driver version 6.0.1.6733

Laptop volume is turned up and unmuted, and I believe the Pro Tools volume is turned up - at least it appears to be in the Mix window.

Have a single Piano Instrument track:
Input: "HD Audio Stereo Input 1-2 (Stereo)" (only one selectable)
Output: "Out 1-2 (Stereo) -> HD Audio Output 1-2" (only one that's not "N/A" or "Inactive")

Also installed ASIO4ALL (http://www.asio4all.com/) to get around annoying "Unable to locate hardware. Make sure your hardware is connected and turned on . Click "OK" when hardware is ready." error. Can't seem to launch Pro Tools at all without it.

In Setup > Playback Engine..., the Playback Engine is hardcoded to ASIO4ALL v2. There's no way to select a different engine, and thinking this is the source of my issue. But again, uninstalling ASIO4ALL makes the tool unusable.

In Setup > I/O, on the Input tab, only one option is listed an checked: "HD Audio Stereo input 1-2". Similarly, on the Output tab, only one option is listed and checked: "HD Audio output 1-2"

With this setup, I WAS able to record a piano track. However, when I play it back, I don't hear anything, even though the level gauges are jumping like crazy.

I also should mention I am completely new to Pro Tools and MIDI recording. I just installed the trial version Friday, and most of my progress to this point has been with the assistance of online tutorials, blogs, YouTube vids and boards like this. So if I missed anything (which I'm sure I have), or if you need any additional info to help me troubleshoot this, please let me know.

Mike

Are you using the Eleven Rack? Do you have the proper Eleven Rack driver installed? http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/d...n-Rack-Drivers

Hold the 'N' while launching Pro Tools if it is defaulting to ASIO4ALL, and choose the Eleven Rack as the playback engine. If you don't need ASIO4ALL, just uninstall it.

Try Defaulting your IO once the Eleven Rack is being used as the playback engine.
