digi 001& beige G3
is anyone using a digi 001 in a beige g3 266?
does it work as good as a 2408? i record into motu audiodesk and then using omf tool open / edit and mix in pro tools 4.3.1 dae powermix- is the digi 001 any better or basically the same. thanks

I was extremely concerned with the whole beige G3/Digi thing before I jumped in, but after thorough research, etc, I dove headfirst and have not regretted a single second. I'm using Digi001 with my beige G3 desktop...I tried a MOTU 1224 system before the 001 and hated every single second of it (I will try never to touch MOTU again). Anyhow, i do have to say that I have bumped my processor up to 466, upped the memory, and threw in a second internal hard drive (but try and find more than 2 or 3 people here who haven't done all that, too). The 001 is a dream come true and I couldn't recommend it any higher, even on the beige G3's. Go for it.

I'm using digi001 with a beige G3-233.
everything is great, not even the mentioned bugs digi was reporting about. i should upgrade it (XLR8,newer tech.) but in the meantime, its workin' great. dont forget, its about the music first, after comes the gadgets.

My Sys. info:
biege G3 desk top 300mhz 320 megs RAM Atto SCSI card recording to external SCSI drive, the SCSI card and the Ram have had the most impact on performance for me, the only error message I ever get now is "running out of CPU" when I go over the plug-in limit line, all in all, this system is the best set-up I`ve ever owned!! Snake

hey mook, how many tracks are you getting with your 233? i have a 266. also, are you getting 48k with more than 8 tracks? thanks!
