Default HD Native Firmware Flash

As part of the upgrade to 10.0.1, I saw on Avid's website that I needed to flash the firmware of my HD Native card. So I downloaded the flash updator.

Just FYI, it's now been going almost FIVE HOURS, and it's 86% done, and that might only be one the first pass. Then it will probably try and verify.

Just FYI, to anyone else out there, there seems to be something VERY wrong with the firmware updator for the HD Native card at the moment.

Of course I can't quit for fear of it trashing my card and making it unusable.

But Avid, WTH is going on with this thing?

Tim, what OS and Mac are you using?- I know there were issues with 10.6.8 and the Harpertown Macs- you might try booting with a 10.6.7 startup disk to do the update if possible....

Said he was using 10.7.2

I use the same and mine was finished in less than 5 minutes. I dunno.. The last time I bounced back up to ten on the old firmware updater it took hours.. The new updater worked like a champ for me.

I use an 8 core Clovertown with the card in slot 3.. Have you looked at where your card is installed? (glad it's working for you though).

I had a problem with a firm ware update on the Native Card and moving it from slot 2 to slot 3 fixed it.

Yeah, I think that's the next step for me, to move the card out of slot 2. It seems for whatever reason people are noticing problems in slot two.

It has to do with the speed of the slot if I recall.
