Pro Tools LE 7.1 Update

Well for what is worth the two problems that were most annoying to me seem to be fixed in 7.1.

1) The SPDIF audition path is now available

2) The mp3 bounce is working properly

Hopefully it will be much more stable as well.

I tried the SPDIF Audition Path and it don't seem to work. Only the Analog Path work when I try to audition samples from the Import audio to Track. What am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance.

Dose it work for ADAT audition path too? That's what I need. If it does that's great, but it means I'll loose DV Toolkit if I upgrade to 7.1.

This really is a terrible oversight on the part of Digidesign and it's pissing me off!

Yes, after tons of requests, we have audition path through ADAT ports.
I wonder why we had it in 6.7 and no longer in 6.9 and 7.0.
I wonder who was at Digi to decide to eliminate digital audition path in LE with the introduction of 6.9.

I have upgraded to 7.1LE on my 002 and G5 Quad Mac, the follow song option is no longer working is this a known issue?

I was hoping 7.1 would make the "simple" fix, broken with 7.0 in the Playback Engine Settings, that doesn't allow you to save a 2048
buffer anymore. I'm always [email protected] and need the 2048. You have to change the 512 to 2048 prior to loading the session(s)
or the red light RTAS error comes up and if you're too loaded, plugin-wise, it's a trick to get out of the loop. Force Quit city. Everything
else saves in that tab but whenever you try to save 2048 it always defaults back to 512...????

I have one question.

I just upgraded to 7.1

When I go to System Preferences it says
under Other: Digidesign Mbox 2.
I have a Digi002R, should it say that ?
When I double click it, it can't connect.

Also under StartupItems there is a Digidesign Mbox 2 folder.
One of the startup items is a Digidesign Mbox 2 configuration service.

I just switched over from a PC so I don't know much about this.

It looses the 1394 connection alot.


I'm running 10.4.4 on a G5.

hi - i know it's weird but you don't have to worry. i have 002R but mbox in preferences too. Digi already said we have to ignore this cause it's "normal".

So, is the upgrade from DV Toolkit 1 to 2 ONLY available thru the digistore at it's MSRP? Or will it be available thru dealers at a potentially lower price? I tried B&H here in NYC and they had no idea about the upgrade package...only the full purchase.

There have been a lot of posts about it, but no real answers. Why are you continuing to ignore your customers?

1) Does the SPDIF option out for the audition channel actually work again in PT 7.1? Are the ADAT outs actually working too?

2) Why are you forcing users who own DV toolkit 1 to upgrade to DV toolkit 2, if they don't need it? I would just like to upgrade to 7.1 if I can start auditioning down the SPDIF again? I should be able to keep the timecode insert I paid for already.

Please explain this to me.
