Default How do I UNlink a duplicated midi track from it's source?

How can I UNlink the midi notes of a duplicated midi track from its original source track?

Example:

1. I record a midi piano track, using Mini Grand as the plugin
2. I duplicate that track (track --> Duplicate)
3. On the duplicate track, I change the sound to a synth (i change the plug-in to something like Vacuum, the built in synth
4. Now I want to edit the midi data of the new track (the synth track) but every time I select notes on it and click delete or cut/paste, the midi data changes on BOTH tracks...The synth track AND the original piano track. Huh? That makes no sense to me.

NOTES:
Mac, PT9. The tracks do not appear to be grouped together.

I want them to stay separate. Help?

Wow. I didn't even know it was an option in the first place. How does it know what midi tracks to link? Can you manually link up two other midi tracks? (Or not a 3rd?)

Thanks!
