Default Pthd10 osx 10.10

I'm considering upgrading my operating system to 10.10, and I'm just curious if there are any issues running ProTools HD 10 on OSX 10.10?

I understand it's not officially supported, I'm just wanting to know if it works.

The issues are well known here and you should know them by now. For instance there's the blank inserts menu deal until you mouse over said insert for starters no to mention you can't install PT10 without mucking about with the installer. And please don't tell us you're doing an in-situ update of oSX or just as bad using Migration Assassin to bring your programs in.

Any real reason you're doing this?

For some reason I was thinking the issue was 10.11, but yea, I quickly realized 10.10 was a no go as well.

Even though I've made my decision to stay with PTHD11, I have been hesitant to move to OSX 10.10 in the event I changed my mind and went back to TDM.

Only reason for moving to 10.10 was so I could install Office 2016.

What's the problem with Office? I have Office 2011 installed on Sierra and it is working just as good as with any other operating system

Solution: partition your system drive and put Yosemite on that (or any other OSX you care to run). Have two partitions here - OSX 10.8.5 and OSX 10.9.5.

Sorry for changing to subject a little but is OS 10.9.5 working with Pro Tools 10 HD? I've seen a couple of threads that say it does but just checking to see if anyone here has any experience with it, good or bad.

I can't speak to PT10HD but PT10.3.10 vanilla works just fine. I know that's not what you're looking for but I figure that any little bit helps.

In my experience, the only issue is that the uninstaller for pt10 doesn't work. So if you ever need to uninstall it for any reason, you will need to manually go through and delete all the files/folders to do the uninstallation yourself.
