PT HD stuck at "initializing hardware DSI" [RESOLVED]

Hey tidalwave, can you tell me which power supply you bought. I think that I am having the same problem with slightly different symptoms. Is your chassis the PE6R4-I? I'm having trouble narrowing down which is the proper replacement PSU as Magma doesn't seem to carry the silent one anymore. I know that I can buy it from another source it's just that I can't seem to source the correct replacement yet. Thanks in advance for any info.

try to get one with enough ampere on the 12 volt rail...

Does anyone know the power rewuirements of Accel cards? I have bought a second hand Magma EB7 and loaded it fully with 7 cards. I am getting occasional Kernel Panics and am trying to figure out what the problem may be.

Whilst the chassis itself works great and all cards pass Digitest it was built in 2008 so the PSU could well be starting to give up slowly.

When I got my HD rig I had issues with the USB sockets sharing IRQ's with the PCI slots so I had to turn some off in the BIOS, now everything works great is this what your seeing?

Hi Raoul, thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I don't know what any of that means... I am using a MacPro (1,1) so have no access to a BIOS. It could be an issue to do with power on the PCIe bus though. I am still trying to figure it out.

I thought it might have been bad RAM but I don't think that is it. Will have to investigate further.

I am having the same problem. Except im not using an external chassis. I have a Mac Pro 4.1 that had an HD3 system in it and it worked perfectly. We just upgraded the 4.1 to HDX and today put the HD3 system in a Mac Pro 3.1.

The 3 HD cards are mounted in the Mac Pro (As apposed to a chassis)

The 3.1 gets stuck on "Initializing Hardware (DSI)"

I tried it with 2 cards and still the same problem.

I then tried with just the core card and it works perfectly.

I recently put a Radeon HD5770 in the 3.1 from a 4.1 and it works fine but I thought it might be drawing to much power for all the cards to work, so I put an old GT120 in and still the same problem. So im not sure if its a power thing.

I will try it in a 4.1 tomorrow and see if I have any luck. In the mean time, anybody have any ideas of what I can do?

Oh and I have also trashed all the prefs multiple times and re-installed Pro Tools as well and still no luck.
