Eleven Rack and other DAW

Ha folks !

I've got a question ! I've recently bought the AVID Eleven Rack and i would like to use it with Ableton Live 8, but when I select the 11R in a track to record I can only hear the Dry sound ?! is it even possible to use the 11R with other DAW ?

It is possible, but it's a little sketchy and of course you don't have any of the embed features. Also, with other DAW's, Ableton and Logic specifically, i can't get the 11R out of "standalone" mode. So as i play through it, i hear double of what i am playing. Playback is all good though.

But to get the wet signal into Ableton, you need to go to "preferences" and select the Eleven Rack as your input device. Then go to "Input Config" and enable the inputs 1~8. Afterwards, in the track, select 3/4 (if stereo), or 3 or 4 (if mono) and that should give you the wet signal.

Maybe it could be added in a firmware update? the ability to mute or take it out of standalone mode without PT, so it can function as an interface only. It super annoying cause the only fix right now is to mute the input monitor, but then the 11R is functioning outside of the mix. and more often than not, it leaves me with a ridiculously loud guitar over a normal sounding click or track. it really kills the feel.

I made a little tool to use the eleven rack with cubase as a midi device.
I could only test it with my DAW (Cubase 5 - 64bit, Win7) but it should work on other Cubase Systems, too.
It would be nice to get any feedback on it.

Hi Mickey, I'm using the Eleven with Ableton Live 8 and it works great. Let me know if it's still not working right and maybe I can help you with settings etc.

well i'm not Mickey, but I would love to know your method of running the 11R with Live 8.

When used as your main audio interface it's no different to set up than in Pro Tools.
One track set to guitar input - ReAmp output.
Next track set to Eleven Rig input - Mainout/groups or whatever output you please.

The only difference is that you can't use the Editor window.

That and the whole doubling guitar problem.

which I'm not aware of an actual fix for. My work around is to use the 11R as a standalone, into another interface via 3 cable method.
