Pro Tools 7.1 eats processors
I just upgraded to 7.1 yesterday and loaded up the last session I was working on. To my shock as soon as the session loaded up pro tools quit unexpetedly, tried again and again no joy. Moved the folder containg the session to another hard drive no luck. Tried renaming the session, nothing. Also tried updating to cs10 nothing. Tried loading all the backups nothing untill track
is virtually empty. I also reduced the max processor performance to 95% with no luck tried as well with 99%. I think it may have soemthing to do with using multi outs from Kontakt 2, however everything was running well with version 7.0. Anyone have any suggestions. Oh yeah I had Actvity monitor running during playback of pro tools and in some parts of other sessons pro tools 7.1 is using 120% of my processor Im pretty sure this wasn't happening with version 7.0. Imac G5 1.8 GHz, 2GB ram, OSX 10.4.8, digi 002, 2 external lacie hard drives(tested running from both and with the other swithced off going directly in to the imac). |

Re: Pro Tools 7.1 eats processors
Please start with the steps in the OS X Setup and General Troubleshooting sticky at the top of this forum. Make sure that all installed plug-ins are Pro Tools 7 compatible - even if they were working previously, the update may have exposed those incompatibilities, causing some of your problems.
