Default Pro Tools 7 Paper Manual Set

Hi Folks,

I realise that we have the PDF versions, but how long does it usually take for the new version paper manuals to become available?

The Digidesign-shop only has the Version 6.7 copy…

Many Thanks

N

It aint gonna be until 2006 till Digi starts selling the paper version of the 7.0 manual.

It will cost you less to copy the .PDF manual on a CD, go to your closet Kinkos or any copy place, and have them copy out all 700 plus pages and bind it for you.

I recommend you do that. I did and I now have a encyclopedia sized manual nicely bounded for Pro Tools 7.0

3 cents a page plus $ depending on binding option.

Save a tree and print double sided.

If you print 700+ pages single sided you'll need a 4" binder to fit that. Otherwise you can split the Reference Manual into multiple binders. If you're like me, you'll also want to print the Getting Started Guide, Upgrade to Protools 7.0 Guide, What's New in Protools 7.0, Read Me, Plugin's Guide for both of your Plus Plugins, Ilok Guide, Keyboard Shortcuts Guide, Menu Guide, etc. By this time your're well over 1000 pages.

Add a few index tabs for faster reference. You might want hole protectors for the front few pages and back few pages since the big binders tend to tear those pages.

I throw in a CD holder sleeve and include a backup copy of my installation CD's. (Depending if you're the only one using this manual, this is a good time to write the Protools installation/activation code down in there too incase you need to reinstall or upgrade your computer.

Where did you guys go to get your manual copied? I went to Kinko's and it was $0.08 a page. That's $56 for 700 pages without binding (and the manual is over 700 pages). I'm planning on getting a hard copy of 7.0 and was just going to order it from the digistore ($39 + free S/H) until I saw this thread. Any thoughts??
