Missing Plugin Presets
Hi,
I have upgraded to ProTools 11, on a Mac, and have kept my ProTools 10.3.7 on the mac as well, since both seem to be allowed at once now. I've bought a Waves plugin bundle, and installed it. I made sure to download what I needed to allow PT11 to see the aax plugins, and I made sure I actually have the aax plugins. Everything works fine on PT 10.3.7...on PT11, the plugins show up, but presets I created in PT 10.3.7 (That I've carried with me for various version of PT) do not. I see the plugins installed in the documents folder, like I've read that they should be. I just can't figure out what I did wrong. Any help you may be able to offer, would be wonderful! Thanks so much!

Re: Missing Plugin Presets
Thank you! This seems like a great way to figure that out.
I created a preset, saved it into the preset menu. (Saving to a new file only gave me the option of where to save it.) I loaded the preset and it worked. Quit PT11, did a spotlight search and the preset was not found. Hmmmm. Weird.... because the preset is still there when I quit and open a different session, and try to use the preset there. But, it doesn't come up in a search...

Re: Missing Plugin Presets
Does OSX try to keep the main Library folder off limits? That might explain why spotlight couldn't find it.

Quote:
As of 10.7 upwards, OSX hides the Library folder. There's a Terminal command that permanently shows it. Google it and you'll find it very easily. Once you run that command, the search will more than likely find your file. Best of luck. |

Re: Missing Plugin Presets
You can actually choose the location for the user Library within the PT11 Prefs, just open the PT preferences, click the "Operations" and you'll see the "User Library" option at the bottom left, set the location to where ever you like - preferably NOT the MaxOS user Library folder - then copy all your settings from PT10 to there and you should be good.

Re: Missing Plugin Presets
PMF Media's above info will apply to anything bundled with PT (and some third-party plug-ins as well, I think), but many third-party plug-ins have their own preset management. This means that, depending on the plug-in, you might have to check the plug-in's manual for more info.
