URGENT! please help with 6.1

Last night i went to fire up my session and an error came up, this is the error:

The procedure entry point _ Dsigetcard typefrom DSP @ 8, Could not be located in the Dynamic Link Library DSI.DLL

then the second screen says:

A required DLL file, DAE.Dll was not found.

Please help me!!! i have a session tonight and it will not work. i went to the Digidesign site, and it said to re-install Protools, which I did, and still nothing......


I didn't do a complete uninstall, I did a repair and a modify, because won't I loose EVERYTHING???

No, the uninstall just removes the program. Your plugins and sessions don't get touched. (you should ALWAYS do a backup though.)

Curious why you haven't upgraded to 6.4; it's a free upgrade.

Never seen your error, but go ahead and uninstall, you won't lose your session files just the program itself.
If you can backup all your sessions, that's always a good idea ...

The reason and only reason i have not upgraded, is because I really didn't see a big difference in what 6.4 was offering. I went to GC (Guitar Center) and they confirmed that is wasn't much of a difference.

I have never backed up sessions? how do i do that?

And, right now, I can't even get into protools, because that error pops up before I can even get in. it all started when i tried to install that new plug-in EQ III.

I should have never tried it.....

The new EQIII is not compatible with 6.1, so that would most likely be your problem (and a good reason to upgrade to 6.4 ). There are uninstall instructions somewhere here on the DUC.

I think from reading that thread that I posted, you need to uninstall EQIII, then re-install 6.1

ok, now for the worst part of it all...... I installed protools about a year and a half ago, and after I just reinstalled protools I DON'T HAVE MY AUTHORIZATION CODE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
