Default disappearing regions in region list

Its a small problem but annoying as heck: The names of files in the regions list (in the edit window) disappear occasionally from the list if I haven't used them in the session. In my situation I'm cutting up segments of room tone and naming them accordingly to be used at different times in my sessions. Even if I have exported the region definitions this will happen. I then have to re-import the audio file that I created to get it back. For years I've had this happen on every platform from Mix Plus, 888, 001,002 and HD as well as different computers. Has anyone had this happen? I love to find out why and if there is a solution to my annoying little problem

Thanks,
Kris
