Dock Touch Strips Customization

So, Ive got a few layouts and custom softkeys assigned to the touch strips. Ive also noticed that swiping the touch strips essentially follows whatever the wheel is set to.

Is there any way to assign the swipe function separately from the wheel? Would be awesome to have the touch strip swipe locked to scrolling or zooming, while the wheel is set to jog or shuttle.

Very cool idea for an unutilized function- so unutilized in my case that I only remember it when I accidentally mess up what I am doing with an unintentional swipe.
