'001 & WHAT CORE AUDIO DRIVER?

Hi, I run 6.4. When ever watching web movies (Internet Explorer 5.2) or reviewing mpeg4 movies that I have made in Squeeze 4.1, my audio comes through the little speaker in my G4 DIGITAL AUDIO mac.

I assume that when I upgraded to 6.4 it would perform like it used to, ie. I could watch / listen back through my desk.

I did a clean reinstall recently, I've been to Core Audio preferances and added these programs to "Supported Applications" list, but still plays it back through the speaker. Any ideas would be wellcome.

OS 10.3.9 installs Quicktime 7, which is most likely the problem. You should uninstall QT7 and reinstall QT 6.5.2.

Thanks, But no it hasn't, I have QT 6.5.2, thought about QT 7, but FCP users have been having all sorts of trouble, so much so that Apple made a QT 7uninstaller, and QT 6.5.2 reinstaller, I'm not going there until they have sorted it, besides, I'm not sure if '001 is supported with TIGER, I understand that QT 7 isn't happy in 0SX.3.9

You should try the steps in the 'General Troubleshooting' thread, specifically the ones on trashing preferences and databases. Along with the other preferences, make sure to trash 'com.digidesign.coreaudiosetup.plist' and 'Digidesign Core Audio Setup.plist' files if you find them.

the latest garageband updater doesnt work with any core audio before 6.9
on my mdd... it will work no prob with your digi001... it works with amiii
