I was hoping they would resolve the really slow/delayed midi issue that 9.05 introduced, but ofcourse no one listened. I'm sticking with 9.0.3.

Beam down the details... computer... session composition...
Are you doing much MIDI?

I'd like to move to 9.0.6 if it's really an improvement over 9.0.3.

The Readme for 9.0.6 was some of the most discouraging reading I've done in years. I suppose it was what I expected. But far less than I hoped.

Same problems here, no obvious improvements.

Still getting corrupt audio file headers, ADC issues, opening session info window causes crashes.

Unlike many others here I have a pretty successful 9.05 install going with a Win7 rig. In fact I ended up there because I was having many issues with even 9.03. In the long run I triple checked ALL the Avid Win7 tweaks...yes there were a few that needed further tweaks...a few due to previous "fixes". Once I re-checked those AND purged some questionable plugs AND reduced the PT9/10 32 levels of undo to 24 AND made sure I was never running Firefox at the same time...AND turned off "autosave", etc, etc, I now seem to have the most stable PT on W7 I've had in a long long time.

I did experience HUI troubles with a Presonus Faderport and/or a Novation Nocturn with Automap, so I decided to bite the bullet and get an Artist Control. With it using the Eucon protocol my controller issues are pretty much gone. I still need to grind on it awhile but I reco that approach highly at this point in time.

BTW my PT9.03 HD running on a MacPro never has had problems...knock wood. I could be fearless and try 9.05/6 on that rig but it ain't broke so I ain't gonna "fix" that install...being my money rig I cannot afford any downtime there.

That point about reducing the number's of undo is one I forgot... may try that if I need to!

But why do we have to restrict/disable our system to get Protools running smoothly?

I just jumped to 9.0.6, no issues here... Now you've got me wondering if I should drop back down to 9.0.3 before something gets messed up. I noticed my cursor on my edit screen changing shape from time to time... Hmmm... I was going to jump to 10 anyway in a few weeks. Urggh... Come on Pro Tools, why are you fixing things that aren't broken, and leaving broken things unfixed?!

The main complaint seems to be sluggish MIDI editing... not audio editing correct?
A bug is only a bug if you notice it.
If your system is working for you... you're good.

Check to see if your graphics driver is up to date.
