Pro Tools 9.0.5 crashes constantly...

Hello - I am hoping someone can please help - I don't want to pay $40 for tech support!

I can open pro tools and screw around with it for a minute, zooming, clicking, playing, etc., but then it crashes.

I have:
9.0.5 Pro Tools MP
2.1.1 Fast Track Ultra
10.6.8 - installed with Combo Update
6gb 800 mhz ddr2 F8-DIMM
2x2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
Gigaware USB port (FT Ultra NOT plugged in to it) - ilok, mouse and iphone charger
4 SATA Hard Drives GUID partition

I have done clean uninstall/reinstall of pro tools, after I used the combo update downloaded from Apple to (re)update to 10.6.8

Please help!

Did you try to remove all 3rd party plugins?
I had a fair bit of problems with 3rd party plugins causing crashes. Installing updates for these plugins fortunately resolved the issue.

Hi - thanks for the reply. I don't believe I have any 3rd party plug-ins, just what came on the PT MP disc... there is AIR, sans amp - they all seem to be made by digidesign...

Ack! I found this link that is supposedly a plug-in updater:

ran it, opened PT again, same thing... OY!!!!

-I suppose you do not run PT on the start-up disc.
-You have dashboard disabled or do a fresh re-start each time you use PT. Don't open dashboard after the restart.
-You disabled Blue tooth
-You put your PT drive on the spotlight exclude list
-You disabled virus protection software
-you disabled time machine while running PT
-Did you try the help us help you information at the top of this page

Also repair the permissions and deletes the prefs and databases.
