Simply unplugging a USB wireless adapter can still cause troubles so try disabling it under networking(same thing happened to another DUC user a few weeks ago and a full disable actually solved his issue. Not sure it will solve yours, but its worth a try.

Out of curiosity, Lefthook, did you follow their advice or test multiple CPUs?

try uninstalling the drivers and software for your wireless wifi adapter.
That worked for me. Just removing the device didn't work. I had to get rid of everything that went with it.

Hey,
I've got this problem too, I have the FX 8150 8 core AMD CPU.
If this truly is the problem then I have to say I can't hate Avid any more than I already do right now.
I can't believe this...

I'M UP AND RUNNING I THINK!

AMD FX 8150 8 Core CPU
Gigabyte 990FX A UD5 Motherboard.
Pro Tools 10
Mbox Mini 3G

I just updated my 990FX A UD5 board to the F7 BIOS and no BSOD on launch.

There is hope in doing a BIOS update.
If this is daunting I recommend using the Gigabyte application called "@BIOS" it's a one click BIOS update. I always find the process a little scary, but it has paid off.

Good luck all!
