Interface Hardware: Presonus Firestudio Problem: Fresh Windows install with Windows updates and Presonus drivers installed and working properly. Updated ilok drivers installed. PT10 installs and updates to 10.0.1 without errors. When double-clicking PT10 icon, shows AVID logo and "loading Pro Tools", then as it starts to load plug ins, it will freeze on a random AIR plug in for a few seconds, then flashes blue screen with error code: STOP 0x00000101. Everything else run perfectly including Reaper. Tried So Far: I've un, and re-installed PT, re-installed Windows from scratch. Switched firewire drivers to legacy. Replaced CPU. |

Re: PT10 blue screen when trying to open for 1st time.
A whole bunch of views and no replys. It's obvious we, the PC users, are paying $300 and $600 for beta testing ProTools10.0 in a windows environment. Next step is demanding refund from Avid. Why should I pay for software that is not yet compatible on PC, and should have been marketed as Mac-only software?

Re: PT10 blue screen when trying to open for 1st time.
I hope they help you out with your comp code.
try - turn off your internal sound card in the bios? Hardware dependent software is so 1998. good luck. |

Re: PT10 blue screen when trying to open for 1st time.
Would it be possible that you have a plug-in that is not supported, or not updated to run with pt's? A few years ago there was a number of plugs that caused pt's to stop.
Good luck with this, hope you find your prob, Mike

Re: PT10 blue screen when trying to open for 1st time.
Update and hopefully a bump for further help.
-Updated video card drivers -Removed all PCI cards except for video (motherboard does not have onboard video) -Disabled motherboard audio in BIOS. -Removed wifi USB receiver. -Tested each RAM din and slot, one by one; 2 dins of 4GB each + 4 slots = 8 total attempts. Same blue screen on loading Pro Tools 10 AVID logo, specifically the AIR plug ins. |

Re: PT10 blue screen when trying to open for 1st time.
Note that VIA firewire controllers may not work. Try all 3 drivers that should reside on the machine. Avid recommends using the Legacy driver, but it never works for me. What does work is the TI Compliant driver, but I have a TI equipped firewire card. Otherwise, try updating/re-installing the iLok driver and/or the Pace Interlok driver. Disable the wifi when running PT.

-I've tried the 3 different FW drivers and all failed, so I've disconnected the firewire PCI card alltogether and the motherboard has no onboard FW. -ilok driver was one of the 1st attempts, and wave plug ins work fine with Reaper so ilok and drivers are working correctly. -And there's no wifi connected. |

Re: PT10 blue screen when trying to open for 1st time.
Same processor here... same issue. Just spoke with tech support and they've determined that there has never been and never will be a solution from Digidesign for AMD processors that don't work with their software.
Unfortunately, this is the only software I own that does this kind of "buy a new computer" tech support. Quote:

Next step is refund demand and life-long passive agro towards AVID. I mean more than I had already before breaking down and following the heard to buy Pro Tools. |
