Default Deleted plug in automation on the whole channel - WHY??? - please help!

Hi! I am just mixing dialogue for a feature film, I have Waves Q10 and Waves Deesser on each channel. I make a loop (sometimes not) enable write automation, and then I do all the stuff with plugins, sometimes I even load my saved presets when in write mode. Then I return to read automation, and it works very well.

But what happened now is - I already made the first 20 minutes of dialogue and found a nice EQ for boom on the 20th minute, i saved a preset and went to try it in some scenes in the beginning of the movie, on the same channel. I did everything as usual, maybe I pressed "Setup B" button on Q10 (Waves). What happened is - all the automation on Q10 from that point onward was set to that preset, and all the automation that I was doing for the whole day (on that channel) was deleted!

I recovered my channel from the Session File Backups luckily, however, next week I am moving to the big dubbing stage where I will continue tweeking with Q10 and other plugins and I don't want that to happen again. Does anybody know something about this, can somebody help? Maybe I did something wrong or is it a bug? I have a bit older system Mac osX 10.5.8. and PT7 LE 7.3, toolkit2. Tnx,

Maybe this thread helps : http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=245754

It is about the nonsense, that when "writing-to-all-enabled with no selction made" the automation is written to the entire timeline for the track.
Maybe, you hit "write frome here to end".

Tnx. How could I hit "write frome here to end"? Is there a shortcut? I messed with this on some TDM systems several years ago and it was scary, I even didn't know this exsists on LE. Where is this option? What is the best protection against this? To be in loop??? To check everything after each write pass?

I do not think there is a shortcut, it is a button in the automation window.
Whenever I do "write-to-all" I take a deep breath before, check that I have made a selection and that I hit the button "write to selection".

I don't see that button. I have PT 7.3 LE with DV toolkit 2. I only have suspend, and write enable - volume, pan, mute... I know I've played with that on PT TDM but I cant't see that in PT 7.3? How could I erase automation without that button?

So then just duplicate the track excluding the audio file and drag your audio files into the new tracks... whallla..... automation is the same on all tracks...
