Default Core Audio DRAMA

Hey all, just wondering if anyone's had this happen:

Audio programs seem to be fighting over the Mbox/Core Audio. If I have iTunes on, Safari won't produce audio or Reason, Live etc. won't play. Or vice versa. Only one program at a time - Sometimes! Other times everything works normally.

This only happens with Mbox 2 Pro; everything works through the built-in audio just fine.

Craziness!

Latest versions of PT and OSX installed.
