Automation for Plugins on one channel

Hello
I am a sound editor for TV progs and films.
I am working on protools 10 HD.
I want to know how I insert a plug to a channel (EQ for example), and for every regen I have in the same channel I want to use different values, using automation.
I found out how to in and bypass the plug, but I want to use it open in different setups.
