thanx man, the dude at daddys junky music told me i would have to keep my receipt when i have to renew in a year

I think he might have been referring to an "upgrade", but even for major Pro Tools software upgrades you wouldn't even need that information to receive a small discount on the upgrade; just your authorization code.

For hardware trade in, where you trade your existing hardware for newer hardware at a discount, I think you would be required to show proof of purchase, but it isn't necessary for just software upgrades.
