Default Dave Clementson: Does Digi + Ed Meitner lead to Digi DSD?

The fact that Ed Meitner designed the converters on the 192 is good enough for me. I'm placing my order on Monday.

Meitner is also the godfather of dsd, right? Could it be digi has plans to create dsd/sacd functionality as SADiE has done? Will it require a new box, or (I'm about to cream!) -- an add on to 192!?!

I've got to go clean up now........

I could never comment on future products. I will say that DSD for PT would take a LOT of code re-writing. DSD would probably be obsolete by then, in favor of a direct digital connection to the brain stem.

I'd only go for that if we had the option of using 3rd party connectors...

Hello Dave:

I like that response for 2 reasons!

0.) For what is says.

and

1.) For what it doesn't say.

At least it sounds like Ed has you "contemplating" DSD by the mere fact that you are considering the complexeties of writing code for it.

and

IF there is a direct digital connection to the brain stem, would audio engineers, after all those years of denying that mixing equates to brain surgery, finally have to acknowledge the connection?

Best Regards
