Default liquid saffire 56

Hi guys. Sorry for the bad english, but hopefully you´ll understand

I´m getting rid of my trusty old Digi 002r and just ordered a Focusrite Liquid 56 to replace it. I´ve spent at least a year reading up on this unit, and finally made the decision to go for it. Now what bothers me is that both Apple and Pro Tools has changed a lot over the last year (I´m on a mac El Cap 10.11.2 - PT 12.4) and I can´t seem to find much info about the Safire 56 along with these versions of OS X and PT. I´ve found a few but they seem 50/50 on stability. If anyone has some knowledge about this setup would you please be so kind to share? ...I still have time to cancel my order, but would really like to use this interface in the future .. drivers issues maybe?

thanx

... Mads

Does your Mac have Thunderbolt? If so, any reason why you don't want to go with the new Clarret line of Focusrite interfaces?

I would avoid the Saffire 56 for one reason - possible lack of future support. It's an older unit, and may reach "end of life" sooner than you would like. But otherwise it seems fine, the drivers are already out for Windows 10 and OSX 10.11

Hi, I´m on and old iMac (mid 2010) so no thunderbolt for me.. I would have gone with that Clarett range in a second if I could afford a new mac

Hi Mesa..thank you for the kind words regarding my english - I´m trying

Due to your reply I spent many MANY late hours last night going through other options, but I found myself getting back to the saffire range again and again. I looked upon the Scarlett 18i20 as well, but I really like the 2 adats on the 56 as I eventually am going to track a full metal drum kit (a big one) and the expandability to 24 tracks is really tempting. Also I saw that the Safire range is ready for a firewire/thunderbolt adapter, so hopefully they will continue support in the future....but you´re right..I´m concerned as it is a very old interface.. this is a sleep stealer
