Hey Chief,

Here is a bug that has been naggin', that may be related to your 'views' bug. Many times, if you have Master Faders and/or Aux Input tracks located at the top of your session, you can't get the [-] or [option -] to work properly. The solution that I have found is that if you simply move the master faders down to the end of the session, and have at least one or two audio tracks above the Aux Inputs, everything works fine. I am curious if this is related to you problem with views?

it is a bug that is worth pointing out - not sure if anyone has noted it before.

Tom

Anyone else experiencing this?

No definitely not. 10.3.5 / 6.4.1 / dual867MDD works fine here.

I'd suspect deeper problems than PTs. Have you done the usual maintenance procedures?

That bug may be related under the hood, but mine is different. Mine is this...

Problem: Any mono or stereo audio track whose output in the output section of the mix window is not set to a hardware output cannot have its waveform/volume view toggled with the "-" key.

Reproducible: Yes, 100%

Steps to reproduce:

1. Create new mono or stereo track (probably the same with surround, but I'm not working that way).
2. Change the output of the track in the mix window from a physical hardware output to a bus, or nothing.
3. Go to the edit window.
4. Press the "-" key.

What should happen: The view of the track in the edit window should toggle from waveform to volume.

What does happen: The view of the track in the edit window does not change. If it does change, you cannot change it back with a subsequent press of the "-" key.

Severity: Annoying! If you do not use a hardware output in the output section, and instead use internal bussing or send audio to the hardware output via the sends section, you cannot toggle your views! There is no convenient workaround for this!

I'm surprised more people haven't complained. After all, DC implied that if enough people complain about it, they'd have to consider fixing it.

if I output a track to a bus, for me [-] and [option -] work fine all the time. only with no output they don't work. for the other question if I put a master or an aux at the top level of the session only the [option -] command doesn't work, if I change only a track to volume with [-] and go back it works fine every time.

but in any case I think it's boring, please fix it...

does someone know if 6.4.1 work with d24?

Time to bounce to top, as a friendly reminder of what we all would like to see addressed in v6.4.1cs1, including a region naming bug.

Thank you Chief, but what about the level problems?

I am seeing this behaviour with "no output" but it works fine for me with a bus output. I've learnt to just leave an audio channel as the first channel in the session, then the <option '-'> key works properly.

Bounce to top. Remember the MIX system!

Digi, do you care to fill us in on your progress (please don't cut and paste the same response I've seen in other threads)?
