LE 6.0 updates for existing 001/LE users

sorry if this has already been addressed but i didn't see any threads specific to this question...

i know that updates are free for 5.1 to 5.1.1 on the site but does anyone know if 6.0 will be free to 001/LE users when it's released as well? if not, what will the cost be?

it seems like the update will be fairly big (with the new look of the program, the added number of tracks, and the 96kHz from 48, etc) but i don't know how they'll handle it. any ideas?

again, sorry if this has been discussed already.

Heard it would be about $75 unless you purchased a system after they announced PT 6 at AES...also I understand that 001 version will not support higher sample rates...somebody correct me if am wrong

There has been no official word on the cost- I think it seems like $50 is the going guestimate.

Also, the previous post is correct- the 001 will never be 96k compatible. That's a hardware limitation, not software.

hey guys, thanks a bunch for the quick replies. while the higher sample rates would be really nice, just the 32 tracks update alone is pretty great to me.

32 tracks now? see, that's another thing i was wondering... i noticed on the specs for 001 and 002 that they were 32 tracks but i sorta figured that those were just numbers for when they were shipping 6.0 and that that would be soon.

what update should give me 32 tracks now since i'm already running 5.1.1? i honestly believe that things like 16 or 24 tracks are best as they are a good editor but i can't say that there haven't been some projects lately that i did where even 1 or 2 extra tracks would have saved me a lot of headaches...

Go check out the downloads page,,the update you want is for 5.2.1,,this is a beta and there have been some miner issues with it,,do a search of this forum and you'll find all the info you need,,there are a lot of people running it with out any problems,,some recomend that you keep the DAE from prievious updates,,
