Exponential Audio's Excalibur was just released - it is worth a serious listen. Sale priced for the next day, I believe.

It's been out for a while now. Been working with the demo version and for what I am looking for it's not a good fit (besides several issues I have with it as mentioned in another thread here).

Excalibur was just released on 3/23/15

It's complex, for sure, but it's been rewarding for me.

I have Excalibur and love it. I was wondering if the Eventide plug-in brought anything wonderfully different to the plate.

The H3000 plugin doesn't have the modules that Excalibur does. What I like about the H3000 is the routing among modules is way easier to figure out; available on one page if one so wants or you can look at individual pages if that's your thing. Excalibur's routing isn't all that easy as you have to look at multiple pages especially if you're working with modulation routings.

There is one module I wish the H3000 would have and that's a ring modulator which Excalibur has.

Other comparisons - changing patches on the H3000 is instantaneous whereas in Excalibur it takes a long time, especially if you're working in Patchwork where every time I went to switch patches in Excalibur I'd get the sbbd for 5 to 10 seconds until the patch changed. Also patches in the H3000 don't seem as dark as those in Excalibur.

Not saying one is better than the other - far from it. It's just that I can't get on with Excalibur for what I do.

Didn't find that useful? Personally I found it a good demo on the plugin with a good number of different sources and effects.

Maybe you'll prefer Andrew Scheps' views regarding the H3000 Factory?

Not really.
I've seen all the demos of the H3000 plugin via YouTube and while they give one a taste there's nothing like getting the demo and actually working with it. Most people that have done demos don't really do them right either, sadly. I still have time on the demo and the sale goes to the end of the month.

For those on the fence about this I'd say d/l the demo and give it a shot. It might work for you and it might not.

I have it and really like it.

That being said, I mainly use it to thicken up vocals here and there.

I did get the channel strip they make when they were giving it away and it's really nice.
