Default XP won\'t recognise 002 midi!!!

Hi...

Hoping someone can help me. I've only recently got on board with Pro Tools with a Digi002 and Pro Tools LE 7.1

In the MSS there are NO Digidesign midi IO options in input OR output! The 002 is recognizing midi, cause I can see the little midi lights flashing away... but WINDOWS DOESN'T!!!! AAHHHH.

I'm sure I've missed something simple... could someone please tell me what. Thanks in advance
Daniel

OK... seeing as no-one seems to be offering any answers... I went back to the tech guru where I bought it...

2hrs and $66 later...

A simple re-install of PT LE 7.0 onwards worked!!!!! The ONLY thing I can think of that he did differently to me was that he had the 002 plugged in the whole time he was installing the various software & updates...

I figure it's worth writing here because I'm SURE I can't be the only one with this experience... and even though I searched these forums to find someone who shared my dilemma I COULDN'T FIND THEM!!!

SOOOOOO, if anyone finds themselves where I've been... save the 2hrs and the $66 and re-install with 002 attached!

Thus endeth the lessong
Daniel

YOU could have saved $66 if you would have done a search on this DUC. i had the same problem about a week ago.. a fresh install did the trick.

this dude charged you $66 do reinstall your software? wow!

wtf!!!
That is the WORST after sales service I've heard about in a long time. I wouldn't be buying anything off him any time soon!

All you probably needed to do was trash the prefs.
I sometimes lose the midi ports when I swap between my Mbox2 and 002R. That's all I have to do to get them back.
