Video and audio at the same time?

I know this is a stupid question,

Can you record video at the same time that you record on your audio session?

Not in Pro Tools.

Depending your system capabilities and drives you could conceivably record both in two different applications. People do it all the time for tutorials and such.

I am on Mac so it's pretty straight forward

#1 What I do for my music video's is record audio into PT and record video into my iPhone with its audio recording enabled .

# 2 Then import the video from my iPhone to my studio computer desk top
Then you can import the video from the desk top into PT (note you may be able to import directly from iPhone into PT if it is connected to your computer )- BUT I do not do that because I want a copy of the video on my computer so I can delete it off my iPhone

#3Then you can simply align the wave form from the Video recording to the PT wave form in the PT recording in PT
Or I actually use Final Cut Pro for video editing and just import the iPhone vid and the PT audio into it

DaVinci Resolve is free and it’s for Windows. But it’s an editor only.

Yes I actually use both, either just a verbal count in, which has pretty definite transients , OR a guitar pic hit to the pic guard and verbal count in,, but did not want to get to complex in my post

Also I for to mention you can also use the web cam on you computer for video as well

Don't know much about windows, but yes there is or was a free version of Davinci ,,, OR if one googles "free video editing software for windows "no doubt there is something usable

I want to start a vlog in youtube. But I am lost w/ the programs!

Try a Google search for screen recording in Windows. You should get some results.

Generally vlogging is a combination of screen recording and camera recording.

There are some web conferencing applications that allow for screen and camera recording at the same time. Zoom is one of them. Riverside is another. Sessionwire Studio and a new one that just came out called Jacktrip (not sure of Windows compatibility here). These are all browser based applications. Your mileage may vary being on Windows.
