Default Automation is too dense (-9155)

Hi,

I recently upgraded my PTHD3 to HDX.

I keep getting this error every five minutes:
Automation is too dense. Try thinning automationdata (-9155).

This is accompanied with a 3 second lasting loop of the last played sample
and slomo picture.
I run no VI's.

System specs:

Protools HD 10.3.7
HDX1 on 8x8x8 i/o
OSX 10.7.5
Artist Control and Artist Mix.
MacPro 2x2.gg Ghz Dual Core Intel Xeon
20 Gb 667 MHz DDR2 FB DIMM
System runs from a SSD.
Blackmagic Card
Four internal HD's, one external on FW800

Tried:
Repairing disk permissions.
Adding RAM
Running session from other user account.
Spotlight is off
Screensaver is off
Ethernet wake off
Wifi off
Picture on seperate external disk.
Turned on "Ignore errors during Playback/record"
H/W buffersize 512
HostProcessors on 3 (out of 4)
CPU limit 85%
Delay comp Long
Cache size 8 Gb
Plugin streaming buffer Level 2
Checked if tracks don't contaqin a mix of DSP and Native plugins

Any ideas what else i can try?
Thanks!

unfortunately i can't help you, but here's hoping a mod or digi guy will chime in. just bumping your thread.

(we've had that error, among others, persistently, are running the same 10.3.7 version as you on ML 10.8.4, and have jumped through all the same hoops as you... to no avail. we just can't get HDX STABLE. been trying for months now...)

Judging by the memory type you've listed you're on an unsupported original version Mac Pro. You may never be able to successfully/reliably run an HDX in that machine. Can you verify which model Mac Pro you've got?

1) Try configuring your PCIe slots maybe?
2) Remove any other PCIe cards, and test with strictly the Vid and HDX
3) Try Different Slots?

Thanks for your replies.
Pete, i've been waiting for the new MacPro for over two years.
This MacPro is from 2006 i think.
Is it the 667mHz speed which does not suffice on this mac for a proper Hdx setup?
Will try swapping card slot first thing in the morning.
Thanks guys, i really appreciate your thoughts!

worth a try, changing card position has helped for some.

(we tried all the card swapping etc too, didn't change anything.)

Your Mac is two generations before the earliest approved ones - it's not that the memory is too slow, that just indicated what generation Mac Pro you have. You could try swapping slot positions but I think it may be a pointless exercise.

Install Windows 7 Pro on it and install the Win version of ProTools. I bet it will work.

Actually, check the software version on your Blackmagic card - I had this once before on a HD3 to HDX upgrade.

Swapping the Blackmagic and HDX card cut the amount of errors way back.
Thanks for your help!
