Default Exporting Reason Files to Mix in PT - Loss of Quality

I've been "Striping" out Reason files (exporting them as AIF's, then importing them into PT to Mix) and I have noticed they loose an edge.

My question is this: how, since Reason only exports stereo files, do you properly pan files to achieve the same sound.

I have been leaving files panned dead center, then importing it into PT and discarding one side if all I want is a mono file (sub bass, for example).

Panning the instrument hard left or right yields the same results.

A lot of users complain about the low output volume of Reason, but I usually just bump up the master fader and I think it sounds pretty good.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Andy

I've been slaving Reason to PT via MIDI Synch. I was concerned that if I just bounced an AIF that it might not hold synch. So, I recorded directly out of my mac into PT. I found that what I recorded in was totally acceptable. A good gain structure always makes for a better recording, though.

It would be nice if either Digi would support ReWire or Propellorheads supported Direct connect (or whatever that's called).
